Brave Arlo Lambie peacefully passes away Sunday

The family of brave Arlo Lambie announced on Monday he had lost his fight for life following his battle with an aggressive grade four brain tumour.

Islanders took Cowes teenager Arlo to their hearts after he was diagnosed with the tumour last October, raising £100,000 towards his treatment and travel costs to Paris where he had started taking a drug called ONC20.

The family said: “Arlo, our beautiful son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, friend and companion died yesterday morning (Sunday), peacefully, under the pink moon, and surround by the love of family and friends. Our Prince of Peace.

“Arlo held deep appreciation for the wonder and abundance of life, and to the end he shared it with generosity, love, grace, lightness, humour and open compassion.

“Thank you all again for your incredible support and understanding through this journey, we look forward to celebrating Arlo and this amazing community with you all soon.

“Funds raised in Arlo’s name will be used to support causes close to his heart.”

After his diagnosis, Arlo was determined to enjoy every moment, focusing on the joy of being with friends, enjoying pizza nights, watching films, and going to college.

He previously said: “I don’t want people to be sad. I just want to be happy in the here and now, because that’s all there is.”
