Ryde School has achieved the best International Baccalaureate diploma programme (IBDP) results in its history.

Results published this week show pupils achieved an average score of 35.8, well above the global average of 30.88 points.

The IBDP is scored out of 45 points, with 25 per cent of Ryde School candidates achieving 40 points or more, equivalent to AAA at A-Level.

Headmaster, Will Turner, said the results reflected the dedication and academic ambition of the 2026 cohort. He said: “These fantastic results are a testament to the hard work of our pupils and staff.

“To achieve the best historical average in the school’s history is a phenomenal achievement for this group of pupils and they can be incredibly proud of their achievements.”

Deputy head girl, Livia, an Island resident, was among the top performers, securing 39 points and a place at the University of Oxford to study French and Italian. Other pupils gained places at top universities including Durham and University College, London.

Ryde School offers the IBDP alongside the IB career-related programme and A-Levels, giving pupils a choice of pathways for different academic levels and learning styles. IB grades for pupils taking the IBCP were also released, with excellent grades achieved.

Final outcomes for Ryde pupils taking the IBCP will be available in August, when the BTEC grades that form part of the course are released alongside A-Level results.
