The Isle of Wight Cat Centre will celebrate 65 years of helping cats, with a special open day later this month.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 13, from 11am to 3pm, at the centre in Marlborough Road, Ryde.
The charity, which began in February 1961, is marking the milestone with a 1960s-themed celebration reflecting the decade in which it was founded.
Visitors can enjoy 1960s music, displays charting the history of the centre through words and pictures, and exhibits looking back at life in the decade, including popular television programmes, chart-topping songs, and the cost of everyday items.
A range of attractions is planned throughout the day, including games, stalls, refreshments, raffle prizes, educational displays, and the centre’s cat awards. Other animal charities will also be attending, with information stands.
The event will provide an opportunity for supporters and animal lovers to learn more about the work of the Isle of Wight Cat Centre, and other local organisations involved in animal welfare.
Young visitors have also been invited to take part in a colouring competition ahead of the event. Entries will be displayed during the open day, and the winners will be announced on the day.
Organisers say there will be something for all ages, with cakes and refreshments available throughout the event.
The open day takes place at 122 Marlborough Road, Ryde, PO33 1AW.
