Members of the IW Parachute Regimental Association took part in a 25-mile walk across the Island on Saturday, finishing at Sandown War Memorial.
The association was taking part in a challenge to raise funds towards The Colchester Airborne Soldier Statue (CASS), to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Airborne Forces in Colchester Garrison, by erecting a dedicated memorial.
To support this cause the ‘CASS 2025 Global 25 Miler’ has been set up, with the challenge for participants worldwide to complete a 25-mile route carrying a minimum of 25 pounds in a backpack.
