Matthew Cox, who looks after purchasing and business development for the Electric Centre in Ryde, is a bright spark and decided to put some energy into his vision of bringing electric vehicle (EV) charging to his customers and the wider public around the area. Chatting to friend and customer, Graeme Preston, of ETL Electrical Solutions in Ashey Road, he found no resistance, indeed the idea generated even more positivity – and the two companies decided to power ahead.
Supported by Richard Pink, of Project EV, the project was designed from the ‘ground up’, and has now gone live.
Matthew said: “We recently started stocking the Project EV range in store and our relationship was already established, so it was an easy choice to get them on board with our joint venture. The company specialises in providing only the most cutting-edge EV charging points.
“During these challenging economic times, it is easy to say that businesses may have more pressing priorities than taking on a project like this. However, the industry is evolving at such a rapid rate that we felt an obligation to provide this charging infrastructure, which also future-proofs our business and car park for the foreseeable future.
“This is a first for our industry in the local area and we firmly believe that it will help so many people in the coming years as the world evolves.”
There are now three state-of-the-art EV charging points in the Electric Centre’s Rink Road car park. Why not pop down to the store to find out more?
