STAR LETTER: Has Britain lost all common sense?

Dear Editor,

The sad case of the murder in Southampton of the 18-year-old, Henry Nowak, is a further indication that our once great nation has totally lost common sense and is now totally controlled by the woke brigade.

As an ex-police special, I find the behaviour of the police involved to be completely out of touch with reality, but they have been trained by woke principals.

If you then look at the sentence given to the perpetrator – a life sentence of 21 years – it is completely bonkers! Life should mean life, but now it can be any number of years. What a world we live in.

It costs between £60k to £100k per year to keep the guilty in prison, with all facilities like a hotel, so in this case the cost to the taxpayers will be in the region of £2 million!

I know from conversations with a huge number of folks on the Island that they believe those found guilty of murder should be terminated. If we have a referendum on the subject, then a large majority would agree. But we live in a completely undemocratic society, so unless we all club together nothing will change.

Do you, the wonderful people on the Island, agree? Great British democracy is dead – unless we find the courage to create change, then we are doomed.
