A Bembridge-based music teacher, with more than 20 years of experience, is offering one-to-one piano and singing lessons for people of all ages and abilities.
Jurgita, who teaches from her studio in Bembridge, welcomes complete beginners as well as more advanced musicians looking to develop their skills. Lessons are tailored to each individual, whether they want to learn for pleasure, prepare for examinations, or improve their overall technique and confidence.
Students can choose to focus on piano, singing, or combine both disciplines as part of their tuition. Jurgita also places an emphasis on sight reading and music theory, helping pupils build strong foundations for long-term musical development.
Originally from Lithuania, Jurgita began her musical journey at the age of seven, studying piano before progressing through specialist music education. She graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, with a master’s degree in conducting, specialising in singing and piano accompaniment. She later completed a postgraduate degree in musicology through the Open University, and a master’s degree in music performance (singing) at the University of Chichester.
Her extensive teaching career has included roles in a number of Island schools, while she currently teaches singing at Platform One College of Music. She also leads and trains singers in several Island choirs, and works as organist and musical director at St Mary’s Church, Ryde.
