Pupils at Brighstone CE Primary School learned about a range of careers during a special careers day on June 5.
Professionals from sectors including healthcare, emergency services, architecture, hospitality, environmental conservation, retail, sports science, marine services, and public relations visited the school to speak about their jobs and answer questions from pupils.
Children took part in activities designed to help them understand the skills and qualifications linked to different careers, and learn about future opportunities.
Pupils were also invited to dress as the job they would like to do when they are older. The school was filled with aspiring firefighters, farmers, doctors, teachers, police officers, scientists and veterinarians.
Headteacher, Rebecca Lennon, said: “At Brighstone CE Primary School, we are not simply delivering a curriculum; we are helping to shape the future artists, doctors, architects, and engineers of tomorrow.
“Our careers day is about embedding ambition and aspiration into everyday school life. We want our children to understand that what they learn in the classroom today can open doors to exciting opportunities in the future.”
Anna Price, a public relations specialist from Robertson Foster, said: “It was a privilege to be part of such an inspiring day. The children were engaged, enthusiastic, and full of thoughtful questions.”
One pupil said: “I really enjoyed careers day, because we got to meet lots of different people and learn about jobs I had never heard of before.
“I was especially inspired by the marine pilot, because I didn’t know that job existed.”
The school thanked volunteers who gave their time to support the event and inspire pupils.
