The body of an elderly woman has been discovered in a Bowcombe field on Thursday morning (November 1).
A member of the public found the woman’s body near Idlecombe Farm, off Bowcombe Road, shortly before 9.30am and raised the alarm.
Isle of Wight police, paramedics and Ventnor coastguard rescue crews attended the scene following a 999 call.
Emergency crews remain at the scene as of 12.15pm.
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: “We were called by our colleagues from Isle of Wight Ambulance Service at 10.08am this morning Thursday (November 1) after the body of a woman, aged in her eighties, was found in a field off Bowcombe Road in Carisbrooke.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious.
“A file will be prepared for the Coroner in due course.”
