Large crowds attended two special events being held on the Island for the first time at Robin Hill, over the weekend.
On Saturday, it was the Sausage & Cider Festival, with more than 30 ciders and over 20 different types of sausages to sample. Live music was provided by tribute acts, including Abba, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, The Killers and Oasis. There was also other entertainment including a circus workshop, children’s stage and silent disco.
On Sunday, it was the turn of Summer in Nashville – a Country and Western day for all the family. There was music from One Night in Nashville, and tribute acts including Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen and Shania Twain. There was
also line dancing, a tin-can alley, rodeo bull-rides and a country music fancy dress, as well as 500 free cowboy hats being given away.
Robin Hill has also launched a new charitable fund, administered by WightAID, to support Island families facing financial hardship. It will help with essentials like food, clothing, school uniforms, and meaningful family outings. Support applications will be made through schools.
