Vibrant Vectis celebrated an exceptional season of rugby

Vectis RFC celebrated an exceptional season at the Medina Festival of Rugby, with 75 teams from across the country and more than 2,000 people attending each day. They were joined by England U20s women’s and Gloucester players, Amy Dale and Olivia Constable.

The club has seen an increase in membership with numbers increasing from 200 to over 250, with the promise of two tag rugby tournaments, offering young players the chance to showcase their skills. This includes an exciting opportunity to impress World Cup winner and rugby legend, Jason Robinson.

Vectis celebrated the season’s achievements at the awards ceremony held at 1Leisure Medina Theatre. Members are heading to Bristol at the end of the month to support Bristol Bears against Harlequins, marking a fitting end to a successful year.

Club chairman, Allan Bridges, said: “I extend my thanks to our dedicated community, the parents for their unwavering support and commitment to good behaviour within the club, the tireless volunteers, managers, kitchen staff, first aiders, coaches, and countless others, whose selfless contributions are the bedrock of Vectis RFC.” He also paid tribute to the “extraordinary committee, whose tireless behind-the-scenes efforts and sacrifices have been instrumental in the club’s success.”
