Island Ultra Challenge walk to help Ukraine

An Island Ultra Challenge, to raise money for Ukraine, is taking place at the end of next month.

Last year, Hugh Harrison, from Northwood, undertook a 70-mile Ultra Challenge non-stop walk around the Island to celebrate his 70th birthday and raise funds to start a charity in Africa.

This year, he explained: “Everyone is aware of the constant terror, suffering and loss that millions of men, women and children are experiencing due to the cruel and savage Russian invasion of this sovereign nation.

“Please help me raise vital funds for these courageous men and women who are defending their lives, homes and sovereignty. I will be walking 100k [62 miles] non-stop around the Isle of Wight between April 30 and May 1 in my 71st year.

“You can help by donating money at savealife.”
