More than 30 tractors took part in the Vectis Vintage Tractor & Engine Club charity ride-out, on Sunday.
The tractors started their five-hour journey from Arreton Barns, which included a lunch stop at Reynolds and Read Ltd, Ryde, before heading to finish at the Havenstreet Steam Railway. Along the way there was a collecting bucket for the IW Prostate Cancer Support Group.
Rally Organiser, Colin Bailey, said: “Well, the men have had their go and it’s the turn of the women this Sunday, with the ‘Pink Ladies’ rally in aid of the Applegate Breast Care Unit, in Newport, supported by the Apple Blossoms Breast Group.
“The rally will start from Thompson’s Garden Centre, Newchurch, at 10.30am, where we will be for the duration of the weekend supporting their Autumn Harvest Show. The ride-out will head to Sandown and back, with the driving being done mainly on the roads.
“This is the second year we have held this rally, and we have someone coming over from the mainland to take part, so it’s good to see that the word is getting out.
“It lets the ladies have the limelight, and also gives the men the opportunity to support them on their rally.
“At Thompson’s over the course of Saturday and Sunday, we will have our tractors, stationary engines, and static and operational garden machinery.”
As well as the Autumn Harvest Show on Saturday, with viewing at 1pm and prize-giving at 3.30pm, there will be exhibitors and demonstrations on both days from Wight
Woodturners, Isle of Wight Spinners, and the Hampshire & IW Wildlife Trust.
