As previously reported, a team of 41 people were preparing to take on the 15km (9 1/4 mile) London south ‘Tough Mudder’ in support of Zoe’s Law – and every member made it across the finish line.
The challenge was organised by Red Squirrel Property Shop and its CEO, Charlie Panayi, with the team travelling to the event last Sunday.
They tackled 15km of mud, water, climbing, and crawling, as well as obstacles requiring teamwork to overcome. Despite differing ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels, all 41 completed the course.
The challenge was held in memory of Zoe Panayi, who died from melanoma in May 2020, aged just 26, leaving two young sons.
Charlie, who is also a Mountbatten trustee, said: “What made this weekend so special wasn’t the Tough Mudder itself, it was the 41 people who agreed to do it and the way everyone pulled together to make sure we all finished in memory of Zoe.
“We had people with completely different levels of fitness and experience, but nobody was left behind.
“I’m incredibly proud of every single person who took part. Some people were well outside their comfort zone, but they still turned up, got covered in mud, and kept going, until everyone was across that finish line.”
