STAR LETTER: Labour won’t deliver change

Dear Editor,

The highly authoritarian Chinese state is becoming increasingly challenged by China’s younger generation, who can’t openly protest for fear of being imprisoned. ‘Bai lan’, which translates as ‘let it rot’, typified by disengagement and apathy rather than open rebellion and protest, is the modus operandi, and apparently spreading fast.

Will we see something similar here in the UK, as our younger generation become increasingly disenfranchised, unable to get on the property ladder, or, in many cases, secure well-paid employment? It was Conservative chancellor, George Osborne, in 2012 who told the nation, “We are all in this together.” Since then, we’ve seen the richest becoming richer, on the backs of the poorest becoming poorer.

Free-gear Keir is showing himself to be no different than the Tories. Our country voted for change. That won’t be delivered by the current Labour glove puppets being operated by the likes of Tony Blair and Prince of Darkness, Peter Mandelson.

The old Labour guard needs to step down and make way for a new blood with fresh ideas that Britain can get behind. Country first.
