People considering a career in care or health are being invited to attend this year’s Isle of Wight Council Care and Health Careers Festival.
The free event will take place at Lord Louis Library, Newport, on Wednesday, September 16, from 10am to 2pm.
Local employers, volunteering organisations, training providers and healthcare professionals will be brought together under one roof, giving visitors the chance to explore opportunities across the care and health sectors.
The festival is open to people looking for their first job, considering a career change, returning to work or wanting to find out more about the options available locally.
Visitors will be able to learn about current vacancies, training programmes and career development opportunities, including roles with the IW Council.
Representatives will also offer advice on the skills and qualifications needed for a range of jobs.
Care and health services offer a wide variety of career paths, from frontline care and healthcare roles to administration, support services and specialist positions.
The festival will also highlight volunteering opportunities for those looking to gain experience, develop new skills or support their local community.
New for this year will be the IW Council Fostering Team, providing information about fostering and the support available to foster carers.
Several NHS organisations are also due to attend, including the IW NHS Trust, Hampshire and IW Community Health Services, NHS Professionals and NHS Working Towards Wellbeing.
Admission is free and no booking is required.
