The Spin-Itch team, from Christ the King College, has made it through three rounds of the Young Enterprise ‘Company of the Year’ programme to reach the National Finals.

Having been awarded best company at both the Isle of Wight Grand Final and the Hants and IW Final, they attended the South East Regional Finals last week at Corum, in King’s Cross, London.

They engaged in a rigorous process involving delivering a company report, interviews, creating a promotional video and finally making a live presentation to the judges and audience.

Spin-Itch – Hari Blair, Kai Doidge, Joshua Magura, Andy Luo, Joe Quinn, Thomas Browning, Kitt-Jo Wilson-Hurst and India Sulley – have designed, made and sold a range of premium quality fidget tools.

These tools are aimed at both helping those living with ADHD to improve their productivity and focus, whilst tackling the growing environmental problem of throw away plastic fidget toys.

This year’s team is made up from students studying A-Level business, who have juggled the challenges which come with setting up and growing a company with their studies.

Hari Blair, managing director of Spin-Itch, said: “The Young Enterprise programme has helped me to gain many skills from working as a team to business expertise. It has been an incredible opportunity and I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in business.”

They have been guided by their business advisor, Guy Wells, managing director of AJ Wells and Sons, and supported by their link teacher, Clare Foster.

The National Final takes in Manchester this week, with the winners progressing to the European finals in Athens.
