There are just six days left to sign up on-line for Mountbatten Isle of Wight’s Walk the Wight 2026.
The annual fund-raiser returns on Sunday, May 10, when around 8,000 walkers are expected to take on the cross-Island routes.
On-line registration costs £15 per person and closes at 9am on Thursday (May 7). It includes entry to the chosen route, a walker number, and a commemorative medal at the finish. After the deadline, walkers can still sign up on the day for £20.
Those who register before the deadline can collect their packs from Mountbatten’s Newport hospice, in Halberry Lane, on Saturday, May 9, between 9am and 4pm.
Walk the Wight organiser, Ash Gibbs, said: “Excitement is building as we prepare for our biggest fund-raiser of the year. We already have thousands of walkers signed up, but we want to make sure no-one misses out because they forgot the registration deadline. Signing up now ensures you can focus on looking forward to the big day!”
Official merchandise can be bought when registering, including a Walk the Wight T-shirt, cap, Mountbatten socks, reusable water bottle, and dog bandana. Limited stock will be available at start lines.
Walk the Wight raises around £500,000 annually for Mountbatten, supporting its 24/7 care for Island families. The charity needs £10½ million each year to fund its services.
