A Top Mops employee is jumping out of a plane in memory of her late father-in-law, and her friend’s baby, who was born prematurely and passed away at just seven weeks.

Loren Tutty, 41, from Alverstone, who is operations manager of the Sandown contract cleaners, will be jumping at Sandown Airport on Tuesday, having already raised more than £2,000 through her JustGiving Page for the Hampshire and IW Air Ambulance.

Loren said: “My father-in-law, Stephen, was taken ill on Boxing Day 2019, and the air ambulance were called. I don’t know where the helicopter landed, but the paramedics were like trained athletes when they came through the front door.

“They immediately worked on him and brought him round; it was incredible to see them in action like that. Sadly, he passed away some time later.

“I’m also doing for it for sweet little angel, Betsy Rose Riley, my friend, Leanda Collins’ daughter. Betsy Rose was born at just 25 weeks, and Leanda had to be airlifted to Southampton.

“The air ambulance was unable to get there, because it was on another emergency, and the coastguard came to take her instead.

However, their stories serve as a poignant reminder of why our support is crucial. Together, let’s make a difference and help keep the skies safe for all in our community.”

Looking back on the life of Betsy, Leanda said: “She left us at seven weeks, and it was the most devastating thing to ever happen to us. Although she wasn’t with us for long, we are so grateful for the time we did get with her. We’ve got to make some beautiful memories with her, which we will treasure forever.”
