The Sun Inn, Calbourne, is looking for a new publican to take over the business.

Owners, Stonegate Pubs, have temporarily closed the venue and are advertising for someone to manage “a charming traditional pub nestled in the heart of Calbourne”.

In August, former landlord Jake Rigby, who took over the pub with his friend Peter Greenhalgh in May 2023 warned: “Many Island shops, bars, and restaurants are feeling the pinch like never before; we need your support now more than ever.

“If you don’t want to see more closures of our Island shops, bars, and restaurants, make an effort to visit them and, where possible, pay in cash. Let’s support each other and get through this storm together. Your local businesses are counting on you.”
