The Itchen Imperial Rowing Club Regatta took place in Southampton on Saturday.
Newport’s Men’s Novice crew, of Jake Garner, Chris Clarke, Ed Hopper and Hayden Tiffin, coxed by Mariana Hare, progressed comfortably to their final, but picked up lots of wash from passing boats, and were beaten to the finish by Southampton’s BTC crew.
Ryde Men’s Coastal Junior Fours A crew, of Lar Groothuis, Joe Bird, Isaac Gibson, and Charlie Watts (stroke), with Harry Watts coxing, won their final in the closest race of the day against Southampton.
Shanklin’s Novice Ladies Coxed Four also celebrated a win, with Lottie Pettitt from Ryde coxing them.
