It’s been a golden week for Isle of Wight hockey stars Oscar Purser, Evie Fairhurst and Polly Rider, with the talented trio picked to play for Hampshire in the first-ever U-17s National Hockey County Championships.
After three days of intense competition, incredible teamwork and sheer determination, Hampshire’s boys’ and girls’ teams overcame the 12 other counties to secure the trophies and earn the Islanders gold medals.
A spokesman for IW Hockey said: “Huge congratulations to Oscar, Evie, Polly and everyone at Hampshire Hockey on an amazing achievement!”
