Shanklin U-11s beach football team travelled to Bournemouth at the weekend to take part in the Beach Fest Tournament and returned with the trophy.
They started the day winning all five group games, scoring 20 goals. They went on to win 2-0 in the quarter finals and then came back from a goal down, to win 2-1 in the semi-finals.
Facing hosts Bournemouth in the final, a closely contested match finished goal-less, with the Island side winning on penalties.
Coach Char Watterson said: “Congratulations to all of the players and their families. Keeper Noah made three great saves and Lyle was calm slotting home the deciding penalty.”
