Join one of Dinosaur Isle Museum’s guided fossil walks and take home your own dinosaur discovery this summer.
The popular attraction is running a number of guided walks throughout the summer at sites of known palaeontological and geological interest on the Island.
Dr Martin Munt, curator of the Dinosaur Isle Museum said: “The Isle of Wight is a great destination for dinosaur activities, with fossils of at least 25 different species found here, from Calamosaurus – a type of predator that roamed the Island 125 million years ago – to the meat eating Neovenator that roamed the Island in the early Cretaceous period, 130 million years ago.”
The two hour sessions take place at a number of locations such as Yaverland, Shanklin, Brook and Culver and run until 3 September 2018. Typical finds vary between the sites, but fossil shellfish, sponges are usually found along with dinosaur bones.
