A two-day charity event, to raise funds for Men Only IoW, took the FuBar in Ryde by storm over the weekend.
The Steam Punkt Music Weekend showcased an “outstanding” line-up of talent, with 17 acts taking the stage, including individual artists, bands and La Tease Burlesque troupe, who closed Saturday night.
The event, which raised more than £400, was organised by Kindred Found, and Karl Hart, founder and managing director of Men Only IoW, a Community Interest Company. He said: “It was an absolute brilliant weekend with a fantastic turnout, and we’d like to thank all the musicians and bands for giving up their time.
“Men Only IoW, which was founded in 2020, helps men find solutions to prevent them from experiencing poor mental health.
“We work with the NHS and, while we know we cannot fix people’s problems, nor can we know what is suitable for everyone, we can attempt to help them consider self-healing. We can stay with them on this journey with empathy and an unconditional, non-judgmental approach.”
Among the performers were Andy Roberts, Monty Carlo, Jonny Michael, Beth Brookfield, Purple Emperors, Dead Revival, Baron Strange and the Blackbyrds, The Damien Paul Band, Corrine Atkins, The Alberts, Chasing Scarlett, Forever to Go, DuneBuggy, Rolling 7s, and the Lazerhearts.
Dani Johnson-Harriman, of Firebird/FuBar, added: “It was a privilege to host such a fantastic event. Massive thanks to Kindred Found, the bands, and everyone who came to support. The talent was outstanding, and the sense of community was heart-warming. The feedback from all who came along has been wonderful.”
