Friends of the Animals launches appeal to help Karma fund urgent surgery

Friends of the Animals has launched an appeal to help Karma, a dog facing urgent surgery after already enduring a series of serious health problems.

Karma previously suffered major leg injuries in a road traffic accident, and has undergone two operations to help her walk again. She also lives with ongoing skin allergies, requiring regular treatment and care.

Now the charity says she urgently needs a TPLO knee operation costing £3,250.

Without the procedure, Friends of the Animals warns the strain on her leg could lead to permanent damage, possible amputation, or further risks to her health.

A TPLO, or Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy, is a surgical procedure used to stabilise the knee joint after ligament damage. It involves reshaping the bone so the joint can function properly, helping to relieve pain and prevent further injury.

Karma needs the operation on her back right leg.

Despite her setbacks, the charity says Karma remains a gentle and loving dog who deserves the chance of a more comfortable future.

Her owners have already done all they can, but are now seeking help to fund the treatment.
