A number of Chihuahuas currently in the care of the RSPCA at Godshill are ready to be rehomed. As previously reported sixty five of the tiny dogs were seized from their former owner on July 29 amid concerns for the animals’ welfare.
The RSPCA have announced that the dogs will not be rehomed on a first come, first served basis, instead a Perfect Match form must be completed and the charity will then match individual dogs to their new forever home following home checks.
All dogs will be microchipped, spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated as well as having up-to-date flea and worming treatment, the cost of which is included in a one off adoption fee that will be charged. The RSPCA is expecting to be ‘overwhelmed’ with offers to adopt the animals, and has apologised in advance to anybody who is disappointed not to be offered one of the dogs, and stressing that they value the support of everybody who volunteers to provide a home to one of their animals.
The remaining dogs are continuing to receive medical care and veterinary support and will become available for adoption over the coming weeks.
