AutoFest IOW took place on Sunday, August 11, at Sandown Airport, organised by the Island’s Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club. All funds raised go to Hampshire and IW Air Ambulance. Last year, they raised £5,000 for this necessary cause and are expecting to donate a similar amount this year.
Approximately 260 various show vehicles and hundreds of visitors were welcomed to the show. With a wide range of different show vehicles, lots of trade stands, craft stalls, food outlets, and entertainment throughout the day, visitors enjoyed an eventful day. Children were enthralled by Hux the magician and took part in various activities. Many adults enjoyed flying the helicopter simulator, which was provided by the air ambulance team.
By 4pm, judging of the vehicles had taken place, and trophies were then awarded to: David Carter (Best in Show), Paul Enticknap (Best Jaguar in Show), Peter Jennings (Best Post-1970’s Car), Jack Sears (Best Pre-1970’s Car), Alan and Jen Martlock (Public Choice of Car).
