As the season draws to a close, Ventnor played their last league match, with friendlies at Ryde, Bembridge and Shanklin.
Southern Premier Division One
Ventnor 223 all out v Calmore Sports 267-7
(Calmore won by 44 runs)
Ventnor won the toss and chose to field, with the Calmore opener making 123 before being dismissed by Hugh Calloway, who went on to take 4-47. The visitors scored above five an over to set a target of 267-7, with Charlie Calloway, Dineth Thimodya and Namish Verma taking a wicket apiece.
In reply, Ventnor opened with Rob Snell who hit 33, Martin Blackman 48 (including seven fours), and Charlie Calloway 35. However, from 166-5 they lost three players to ducks, and would be disappointed to be bowled out 44 runs adrift with overs remaining. Ventnor finish the season seventh and will reflect on what could have been.
