Two new books, written by monks at Quarr Abbey, have been published.
The authors, Abbot Xavier and Father Luke, welcomed more than 50 people to a book launch and signing at the abbey on Monday.
Abbot Xavier’s book is entitled ‘In the School of Saint Benedict: Benedictine Spirituality for every Christian’ while Father Luke’s is: ‘The Mystery of Identity.’
The Abbot said: “The book explores how important St Benedict has been to the world and what he has had to say. People throughout the world have been inspired by his wisdom and it presents the spiritual tradition which is lived at Quarr Abbey.”
Father Luke’s book guides the reader through our culture’s concerns about identity and along the spiritual path which leads to the receiving of true God-given identity. He said: “This is a beginning of a conversation and what has been rewarding is that people have been encouraged into conversation about it.”
Both books have received excellent reviews.
