Tree planting project at Lanesend Primary

A Cowes primary school has been involved in a tree-planting project as part of the ‘Queen’s Canopy’ for her Platinum Jubilee.

Kate Collins and Rachael Ardley, from Gift to Nature, visited Lanesend Primary School to help with the planting.

The chosen tree is a sapling from a 700-year-old oak tree from the Nunwell House and Gardens, Brading.

Charli Reading, school office manager, said: “We feel very privileged to have received this. The children are going to keep a diary of the tree as they watch it grow and change over time.”
