A popular West Wight pub is reopening today (Friday) at noon. The King’s Head, Yarmouth, has been closed over the winter, but is opening for the summer season with a new chef and will be serving food seven days a week.
The pub, part of the Character Inns Group, will be managed by Ben Taylor, who previously managed The Buddle Inn, Niton, and has been working in the Bugle Coaching Inn, Yarmouth, over the winter.
Ben said: “We will open at noon for drinks today, but food will be served from 6pm, and then we’re full steam ahead with food and drink seven days a week.
“Our head chef, Jay Ford, will be serving popular pub dishes and his seafood specialities. We will also have live music on Friday and Saturday evenings, between 9-11pm, with local artists.
“If all goes well this summer, we are looking ahead and hoping to open up rooms upstairs next year as we reinvest in the pub.”
