Still time to capture ‘Life at Quarr’ images

There is still time to enter Quarr Abbey’s annual photographic competition being held in partnership with the IW Observer. The competition is designed to highlight the creative talents of our Island photographers.

The free-to-enter competition invites people of all ages and skill levels to capture the essence of ‘Life at Quarr’.

There are categories for Children (aged 10 and under), Students (aged 11-18), Amateurs, and Professionals, and any photo clubs should they wish to take part.

This year, an exciting new category has been added for schools, offering pupils the chance to contribute while competing for £250-worth of photographic equipment. Individual winners, in other categories, will receive £100 in Quarr Abbey vouchers, along with a professionally-framed copy of their winning photograph, which will also be printed in the IW Observer. Winners will be invited to the exhibition’s official launch, an opportunity to celebrate their creativity and share their achievement.

The competition runs until midnight on May 1.

Submit your digital images (maximum size 22MB) via email to tracy.osborn@quarr.org, or send or drop off printed copies at Quarr Abbey’s farm shop or tea shop (addressed to Tracy Osborn), or the IW Observer’s office in St James’ Square, in Newport. Remember to include your name, contact details, and the category you’re entering. Winners will be announced before the end of May, and the judges’ decisions are final.

Please note that drone photographs are not eligible for this competition.

Gather your cameras or phones, head to Quarr Abbey, and find inspiration in its timeless beauty.
