Unique quiz for Heartbeat was a success at Ryde Castle

The winning quiz team, The Old Ryde Round table

A quiz night in aid of cardiac charity, Heartbeat, has raised more than £1,200. The Beat the Heat quiz night was the first of its kind on the Island, and was held at the Ryde Castle Hotel last week.

The sell-out event saw teams of six compete against each other, putting their general knowledge to the test while raising vital funds for the charity.

Winning team ‘The Old Ryde Round Table’ took home the trophy, with only one point difference from runners up, ‘Beating not broken’.

Tanya Harder, community fund-raising and marketing manager, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the success of the first-ever Beat the Heat quiz night on the Island.

“The incredible support from the community has helped us raise just over £1,200 for Rotary Heartbeat House to continue supporting cardiac patients’ relatives from the Island in their time of need.”

Tickets for next year’s event on the Isle of Wight are already available to book, just email Tanya@heartbeat.org.uk.
