Changes to this year’s upcoming Pride parade

Isle of Wight Pride is set to hold its annual event on Saturday, July 19.

Since it started in 2017, the event has thrived despite facing numerous challenges, particularly this year due to the difficult economic climate. Organisers have reported a 70 per cent reduction in income, meaning changes must be made to ensure the event remains viable.

A spokesman said: “This year, the parade will proceed as usual, but the entertainment and community village will relocate from Harbour Beach to Eastern Gardens, around the Pavilion Bar and Balcony nightclub.

“To boost fund-raising efforts, evening entertainment will now require tickets, while daytime activities – including the show, community village, and parade – will remain free of charge.

“Everybody who has purchased tickets will be contacted; general admission tickets will be refunded, and VIP ticket holders can enjoy the evening festivities or request a refund.”

Featured performances this year will include headliners Rozalla, La Voix, and an N-Trance DJ set in the Balcony.
