New £100,000 grants programme launched for Ryde groups

A new £100,000 community grants programme has been launched to support projects that improve life in Ryde.

Ryde Neighbourhood Board is inviting applications for up to £20,000 from local organisations, businesses, and community groups, as part of the government’s Pride in Place programme.

The wider scheme will see £19 1/2 million invested in the town over ten years, with at least £100,000 also expected to be made available for community grants in future years.

The 2026 grants programme aims to support local ideas and projects which help Ryde residents and strengthen the town.

Applications must meet at least one of the programme priorities, including improving public safety, health and wellbeing, increasing access to learning, supporting volunteering, improving sport, recreation and culture, enhancing the natural and built environment, and supporting local business and employment.

Rachael Randall, acting board chairman and chairman of the board’s finance committee, said: “The launch of these grants marks an exciting milestone for the Pride in Place programme and, more importantly, for the Ryde community.

“Pride in Place will bring significant investment into the town to help improve Ryde and make life even better for residents and visitors.”

The closing date for applications is midnight on Monday, August 17. The first successful applicants are expected to be announced after approval by the board at its September meeting.

A total of £742,000 is available in the current financial year.
