The recent announcement of continued funding for Early Support Hubs, including a vital £200,000 boost for the Isle of Wight Youth Trust, has been welcomed by IW West MP, Richard Quigley. The funding — part of a £7 million national package —will ensure more than 12,000 children and young people across England have access to early mental health and wellbeing support.
The Isle of Wight Youth Trust’s services, including counselling for over-18s, youth advice programmes, and outreach efforts, will benefit from this investment. “After I wrote to the Secretary of State in February, I’m delighted that the IW Youth Trust is one of 24 organisations receiving this vital funding,” said Mr Quigley. “The trust’s work is crucial for the Island’s young people, and I’m committed to ensuring their services continue to grow.”
Jo Dare, CEO of the Isle of Wight Youth Trust, also expressed her appreciation, highlighting how this support will sustain essential services for young people aged 11 to 25. She added, “This recognition strengthens our ability to advocate for young Islanders and their mental health needs.”
