IW Observer/Island Echo General Election Hustings start tomorrow

Islanders are being given the opportunity to quiz candidates standing for both the Isle of Wight East and Isle of Wight West constituencies during the joint IW Observer/Island Echo General Election Hustings.

Cameron Palin (Green), Ian Pickering (Reform UK), Richard Quigley (Labour), Bob Seely (Conservative) and Nick Stuart (Liberal Democrat) will all be taking part in the first event – for Isle of Wight West – at Newport Minster on Wednesday, June 12. Doors open at 6pm for a prompt 6.30pm start.

Those vying for election for Isle of Wight East – Emily Brothers (Labour), Michael Lilley (Liberal Democrat), Vix Lowthion (Green), Sarah Morris (Reform UK) and Joe Robertson (Conservative) – will also face tough questions at the second hustings, to be held at Ryde School on Wednesday, June 19. Doors will also open at 6pm for a prompt 6.30pm start.

An exit poll will be carried out at both events, with the results published online and in print.

The hustings will be live-streamed to IW Observer’s Facebook Page for those unable to attend in person.
