Garden competition, Wight in Bloom, has seen a 27 per cent growth in entries this year as nearly 100 individuals, groups and businesses have entered their horticultural hard work across 10 categories.
Organised by Visit Isle of Wight, Wight in Bloom is open to all Island residents and organisations to make the Island a brighter, greener place to live and visit.
The judges will mark entries across five different criteria – overall impression, design, horticultural practice, innovation and sustainability, and categories include Best Large Garden, Best Small Tourist Attraction Garden and Best Commercial Garden.
Judging takes place over the next few weeks during mystery visits, ahead of an award ceremony at Albert Cottage in East Cowes, in July, hosted by Wight in Bloom patron, celebrity gardener Alan Titchmarsh.
