Island businesses are joining forces to raise money to fight cancer, by taking part in the 2026 London Marathon.
Sophie Jackson and Zia Brook, from WRS, and Deon Redpath, from WightFibre, will run in London alongside Chloe Parkes and Paul Thorley.
Paul will be taking part in his third London Marathon.
The team is aiming to raise as much as possible to provide cancer services for families across the Isle of Wight and Hampshire.
For many runners, the London Marathon is a one-off challenge, but Sophie is returning for a second year after helping the team raise £50,000 for the charity in 2025. She said: “I am proud to be part of a team that can continue making a difference for those who need it most. Let’s go, team 2026!”
Deon said: “Running a marathon is not something I ever thought I would ever get round to doing, especially not the London Marathon, so being able to do that and raise some money for Wessex Cancer Support in the process is a win-win for me.”
Wessex Cancer Support provides motional, practical, and well-being support to people affected by cancer, as well as their families.
