IOW Marlins raise money for charity

A successful barn dance held by IOW Marlins Masters Swim Club, along with an auction and raffle, has led to a donation of £1,350 to charity Safe Passage International.

Chairman of the Swim Club, Bob Cooper, said: “For the Marlins members to be able to raise such an amount helps us feel that we have been able to support the efforts being made around the world to assist keeping refugees safe, and enable charities such as Safe Passage International to continue their vital work.”

A spokeswoman for the charity wrote: “Your support will help us to continue our fight for safe routes for child refugees, as well as campaign for a more compassionate response to those seeking asylum in Europe. Thank you.”

Safe Passage International helps child refugees stay safe from abuse and trafficking and supports them with accessing their rights to travel safely to a place of sanctuary.
