Hovertravel has announced the winners of its internal awards scheme at a prizegiving ceremony at their Ryde headquarters. Thanks to the efforts of its staff, Hovertravel’s customer service has been recognised externally through independent reviews and awards schemes.

Neil Chapman, managing director of Hovertravel, said: “Hovertravel is proud of the service provided by its staff and the reputation we have created for ourselves as the friendliest cross-Solent operator. We constantly monitor customers’ feedback given directly to ourselves and indirectly via review sites such as Trip Advisor, Google and Facebook. These results are discussed and acted on across all departments, including engineers, pilots, cashiers and crew.

“Our internal awards recognise and reward our star performers, re-enforcing our customer-focused culture and highlighting those individuals who are at the forefront of our customer service delivery.”

The HoverRewards scheme invited Hovertravel staff to nominate their colleagues and explain why their chosen team member deserved to be recognised. These submissions were then assessed by a panel of third party experts who decided on three awards (Bronze, Silver & Gold) in each category. The results were: Unsung Hero Award, Gold – Chris Wood, Silver – Terri Frost, Bronze – Annie Harrison/Deb Ash (joint winners). Service Star Award, Gold – Lorry Middleton, Silver – Marie Armstrong, Bronze – Dean Long. Graham Snow ‘Over & Above’ Award, Gold – Pat Sowerbutts, Silver – Mary Toms, Bronze – Kerry Wherry
