Funds from annual Boat Jumble will go to great causes

On Saturday, May 25, Island Harbour Yacht Club will host the annual Boat Jumble. All funds raised from pitch fees, donations, and sales of donated items (last year totalling £1,019), will go to the RNLI and Ryde Sea Cadets, also supported by Island Harbour Yacht Club.

Despite the marina being in administration, and the Breeze restaurant being closed, Island Harbour continues to run as normal.

Event organiser, Heather Bowley, said: “There will be no problem with refreshments at the event as Taste Buddies will be there with breakfast baps, hot and cold drinks, and more. Wight Ices will also be here.” Both are donating a percentage of their sales to the charities.

Heather hopes people will attend the Boat Jumble on Saturday morning, as part of their weekend celebrating the RNLI. The event coincides with the East Cowes event, celebrating 200 years of boatbuilding on Saturday and the RNLI Inshore Lifeboat Centre holding an open day on Sunday.

Public parking and entry is free from 10am–1pm. Pitches from £10. Booking is essential. Contact heather@ihyc.org.uk, or call her on 07968 401322. Setting up is 8am to 9.30am.
