Funds available to help fight cancer

By Chris Cornford Jan 24, 2021

Cancer hasn’t stopped during the Covid pandemic and Action Hampshire has announced the Communities Against Cancer project, funded by the Wessex Cancer Alliance, will continue.

The funding offers grants to community groups, social enterprises and charities to help raise awareness of cancer across the region, including on the Isle of Wight. Grants of up to £5,000 can be used by groups to engage with people they support to understand how to reduce their risk of cancer and live healthier lives. The funds can also be used to encourage people to participate in cancer screening, be more aware of possible cancer symptoms and to understand the importance of contacting their GP as soon as they have a concern.
