East Cowes seafront has been given a fresh lease of life this week, as the town council unveiled two major refurbishment projects on the Esplanade, the newly renovated public toilets and the much-loved paddling pool, in time for its 100th anniversary.
The toilet refurbishment is now complete, offering residents and visitors modern, clean, and fully accessible facilities. Smart new cubicles and contemporary flooring provide a fresh and welcoming experience for all users.
Just steps away, the East Cowes paddling pool has also undergone a transformation. First opened in 1925, the pool celebrates its centenary with a vibrant new look, including a resurfaced basin in cheerful, child friendly colours and an upgraded water system to improve hygiene and sustainability.
Cllr Tracy Reardon, mayor of East Cowes, said: “These two major projects reflect our commitment to preserving the character of East Cowes while providing first class amenities for everyone. The Esplanade is a jewel in our town, and we’re proud to see it restored for future generations.”
The newly revamped paddling pool reopens to the public on Monday (May 12).
