Daish’s Hotel in Shanklin have vehemently denied damaging claims that they have allowed a coach load of guests from Leicester to stay at their hotel this week.
Social media was awash with rumours that people had been allowed to holiday on the Isle of Wight despite the fact that the Midlands city remains under local lockdown because of a spike on coronavirus cases.
This evening a spokesperson for Daish’s said: “I have heard this rumour. We have had multiple phone calls today, including from councillors. There is absolutely no truth in it whatsoever. Basically, as soon as we were aware Leicester was in lockdown again because of Covid-19, all the guests that were supposed to be coming here were told the holidays were cancelled until further notice, and until the Government had given them the all-clear to travel out of the city.”
