The weekend saw a double hat-trick for Brading’s Elliot Apter, Sam Cant can’t stop scoring for Whitecroft & Barton, and there was Wessex woe for the three Island sides.

After their success in the IW Challenge Cup Final, goals from Sam Cant (2) and Matt Evans saw Division One leaders, W&B, maintain their dominance in Division One, with a 3-0 home win over Brading, with Liam Harper getting yellow-carded for W&B before the break.

Ventnor lost 2-0 at home to a youthful Bembridge side, with debutant, George Gulley, scoring, alongside experienced Josh Field.

Fellow debutant,, Theo Sampson, had a memorable match, and keeper Kev Read pulled off a string of brave saves to keep a clean sheet.

Second-placed West Wight won 5-0 away at Northwood, with two goals from Gareth Bricknell, and one apiece for Josh Daley, Chris Elliott and George Saunders.

Cowes Sports Res won 4-1 at home to East Cowes Sports.

A Ben Cutts hat-trick, and a Mark Goodwin goal, saw Vectis win 4-1 at home to High Park.

In Division Two, 3rd-placed Niton won 5-2 at home to Newport Res.

Seaview won 2-1 at home to Ryde Saints, with goals from Brandon Smith and Neil Badham, and a player-of-the-match performance from Jacob Gammon.

In Combination One, Sandown & Lake Res won 6-2 at home to Northwood Res, with two goals from Dylan Andrews, one apiece for Ethan Dicker, Jake Lester and sub, Jimmy Golding, as well as an own goal.

Two goals from Andy Ebbs, and one each for Josh Richardson and sub, Cory Neville, saw East Cowes Sports Res beat Shanklin Res 4-1, with Billy Mack scoring for Shanklin.

Ventnor Res lost 3-0 at home to 2nd-placed West Wight Res, with two goals from Charlie Smeeton and one from Louie Thomas.

Binstead COB Res beat W&B Res 4-1 at the Molehill, with Jack Ewbank netting the consolation goal.

Brading Res convincingly won 14-0 at home to Vectis Res. Highlights included six goals for 16-year-old Elliot Apter, and a hat-trick for Rich Scott.

In Combination Two, West Wight A won 3-0 at home to Newchurch Res.

A hat-trick from Cameron Kayode, two from Shay Dixon and one from Matt Smith, saw Wootton Res win 6-1 at home to Niton Res.

High Park Res were awarded an away win against Ventnor A.


Cowes lost 1-0 away at Stoneham in the Premier Division.

Vics lost 3-1, with a Josh Neale consolation goal, away at Hamworthy Recreation.

Lewis Parsons and Joe Butcher scored for Newport in their 7-2 away defeat at Aldermaston in Division One.


On Saturday in Division One, leaders W&B are away at Vectis, Bembridge welcome High Park and Cowes Sports Res entertain West Wight. East Cowes Sports are at home to Brading, with Northwood at home to Binstead COB.

In Division Two, Ryde Saints are at home to Wootton, Sandown & Lake entertain leaders Osborne Coburg, and Seaview welcome Newchurch.

In Combination One, leaders East Cowes Sports Res travel to West Wight Res, Vectis Res welcome Sandown & Lake Res and Shanklin entertain Binstead COB Res. Northwood Res are at home to Osborne Coburg Res, Brading Res play W&B Res, and Bembridge Res welcome Ventnor Res.

In Combination Two, Niton Res are at home to Newchurch Res, with West Wight A welcoming Wootton Res.

In Wessex, Cowes play away at Petersfield in the Premier Division, with Vics away at Romsey, and Newport home to Downton in Division One.

On Sunday, Shanklin Ladies welcome Winchester Women in Division One, and leaders, Wight Eagles, are at home to Rushmoor in their last Division Three game of the season.
