Despite the aftermath of Storm Lilian, which made many local events a complete washout, the Bembridge Horticultural Society went ahead in the Village Hall.
There were 172 entries from 22 entrants. The general consensus was that it had not been a very productive year in the garden, but the standard was still very high.
West Wight MP, Joe Robertson, drew the raffle and gave away the prizes – the first time he had been asked to do so, but doubtless not the last.
The committee had made excellent cakes, which were a sell out, and there was a good number of visitors.
