By Isle of Wight ObserverSeveral staff from Amey have given the reception area and stairwells at Ryde Methodist Church a new look.
Nine team members recently visited the church on Garfield Road to paint the areas which had become tired and in need of refurbishment.
The visit was organised as part of Amey’s Community Involvement Day scheme where staff are given an additional paid day’s leave to carry out work to benefit the local community.
As well as supplying the manpower, Amey also provided paints that were used.
Peter Bourne, trustee manager at the church, said: “I want to say a bid thank you to the team from Amey. The job looks absolutely great and all at the church are very grateful for the efforts.
“The stairwells for example are now in constant use after a local dance school started using the upstairs room and were in a poor state. I can’t thank the team enough for the work they have done.”
Paul Southall, account director for Amey on the Isle of Wight, added: “The staff were more than happy to get down to work and help the church. I am very pleased the church are thrilled by the results and we were more than happy to help.”
