On a weekend when the skies opened up, Whitecroft & Barton progressed in Hampshire, Sandown & Lake and East Cowes Sports won in the Vase. There was also a double hat-trick for Newport’s Jack Butler, 5 for Binstead’s Luis Perfect, and hat-tricks for Niton’s Tom Brownrigg, West Wight’s Reece Galloway and Newport’s Ryleigh Wain, and a Wessex win for East Cowes Vics. Gemma Woodford’s hat-trick inspired a Shanklin Ladies come-back against Winchester.
Hampshire Trophy and Vase
Whitecroft & Barton won their Hants Trophy match 4-3 at home to AFC Stoneham Reserves, with 2 goals apiece for on-form Harry Green and Aidan Sainsbury.
West Wight lost away 5-4 on penalties, to Headley United, with Gareth Bricknell scoring West Wight’s goal to earn a 1-1 draw and shoot-out decider.
Osborne Coburg lost 4-1 away to Andover Town, with Elliot Apter netting the consolation goal, and sub, Charalambous Panayi, getting red-carded.
Goals from Jamie Barratt and Harry Symes were not enough to stop Bembridge & Vectis losing 3-2 away at Fleet Spurs.
Ventnor led 1-0 at half time away at Folland Sports, but went on to lose 6-2, with both Ventnor goals coming from Mark Taylor.
Fordingbridge Turks were awarded a win against High Park.
Sandown & Lake won 2-0 away in the Hampshire Vase after a goal-less first half, with goals from Chris Blow and Alex Breingan securing the win.
East Cowes Sports won 3-1 at home to Wey Valley, with 2 goals from Blake Reeves and 1 from Callum Fryer.
Jack Butler’s double hat-trick helped Newport Res win 12-1 at home to Osborne Coburg Res, with other strikes from Caleb Charlesworth, Robbie Shepherd (2) and a Ryleigh Wain hat-trick, with Riley Howarth getting the consolation goal.
Ryde Saints won 5-4 at home to Ventnor Res, with the goal of the game from Saint, Jack Maloney, and Harley Kennett hitting one for Ventnor.
Pan’s away fixture at Bournemouth Electric was abandoned.
West Wight Res won 6-2 at home to Bembridge & Vectis Res, with a Reece Galloway hat-trick, and goals from Liam Blythe and Jordan Flynn (2).
W&B Res narrowly lost 2-1 away at Stoneham Veterans, with stalwart, Joe Rayner, scoring for WAB. Oakfield Res lost 4-0 away at MOB Albion.
West Wight A won on penalties away at Sandown & Lake A, after goals from Joe Melody and Simon Merrett secured a 2-2 draw, with Sandown’s consolation goals from Dan Busbridge and Phil Shuro.

Goals from Barney Snaith (2) and Harry Bell saw Northwood win 3-2 at home to Shanklin in Division One, with Shanklin goals from Rory Day’s first half volley and Daniel Drudge’s 30-yard second-half free kick. Goals from Joe Calder and Luke Smallwood saw Cowes Sports Res win 2-0 away at Oakfield.
In Division Two, Binstead COB won 4-0 at home to East Cowes Vics Res, with goals from Ad McKenner, joint player-of-the-match Zak Sullivan (with James Milligan), Ash Smith and Olly Crook.
Niton won 5-2 away at Seaview, with a Tom Brownrigg hat-trick, and 1 apiece from Sam Hatton and Jordan Fowkes.
Combinations One and Two
Shanklin Res won 6-1 at home to East Cowes Sports Res, with goals from Chris Fletcher, George Lee (2), evergreen Wayne Newnham, Jason Smythers and Elliott Yardley.
In Combination Two, Binstead COB Res won 13-0 away at Newchurch Res, with player-of-the-match, Luis Perfect, netting 5, and other goals including Liam Lock, Tom Woodhouse, stalwart Dan Murphy and Darrius Gambi to see the Binmen joint leaders.
Dan Verstraeten’s second half goal secured Ventnor A a 1-0 home win over Sandown & Lake A.
Wessex
Vics won their Premier League match 1-0 at home to Andover New Street, with a first-half goal from Jake Scrimshaw and Jordan Chapman awarded player of the match.
Cowes lost 3-1 at home to Downton, with Fin Phillips’ late penalty little consolation for the Yachtsmen.
In Division One, Newport will be disappointed to lose 1-0 away at Clanfield in the final minutes, with Ji Nash hitting the bar for ‘Port.
Hants Women
A brave battling performance by Shanklin at the County Ground, saw the Islanders repeatedly comeback from behind to win 5-4 at home to Winchester City Flyers. Evergreen Gemma Woodford claimed a hat-trick including a first-half header to level at 1-1, with 2 goals from Thea Broadhead, including the 84th minute winner with a lob over the keeper, and securing a spot in Division One with games in hand.
The Wight Eagles match was postponed.
